High school Mandarin teacher at North Broward Preparatory School and adjunct Humanities professor at Broward College in South Florida region, with a background in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) as well. My teaching style emphasizes project-centered, proficiency-oriented learning. I use projects to maximize target language use as much as possible in class and keep students engaged. I am also a scholar, a freelance translator of Mandarin Chinese into English, and a freelance essay and article writer. My scholarly articles have appeared in academic journals and essay collections, while my freelance writing and translation has been published in CommonWealth Magazine, Watching America and SupChina.
