Lola Alvarez is a Reggio Emilia-inspired consultant with 35 years of early childhood teaching experience in international schools, including Colombia, Egypt and China. Lola holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from Buffalo State University, New York. Lola currently works at Shanghai American School as a Preschool teacher and also as the Reggio Emilia Coordinator.Lola ’s first visit to Reggio Emilia, Italy was in year 2000. Since that time, she has visited the Reggio Emilia schools more than ten times. Lola’s mission as a consultant is to disseminate the Reggio Emilia philosophy among the international community and to help schools reinterpret the key principles of this approach within the context of their own culture.
