Rose Walton is currently PhD student at Brock University. Continuing learning in the cognition and learning stream, Rose is exploring how family systems theory and hegemonic masculinities contribute to the understanding of how fathers’ influence literacy development of preschool children. Post secondary teaching opportunities at Western University included early literacy, early childhood education and social foundations. Instructor of Kindergarten Parts 1, 2 and specialist for the Ontario Elementary Teachers’ Federation. Leadership roles have included early literacy support, supporting teachers and early childhood educators as interprofessional partners in school systems and administration. Currently interested in supporting intergenerational literacy using digital platforms.
