About Course

How might we bring campus leaders from around the globe together to collaborate and share ideas on shifting from being a “manager” of a building to an “instructional leader”? This four part series will share what it means to actually lead your staff to improve teaching and learning on your campus.

This course is designed for current or aspiring campus administrators seeking to learn effective practices to enhance the learning and teaching on their campus. Participants will be encouraged to participate through readings, videos, and reflection activities designed to deepen their knowledge on various facets of instructional leadership.

We will discuss and explore the changing role of a principal in the last twenty-five years and why now, more than ever, it is imperative that a school leader have a positive impact on instruction. The resources provided will be the foundation for the discussion as participants are asked to reflect on their current practices, articulate their aspirations, and begin to devise their own action plan and personal statement regarding instructional leadership.
