Are you trying to start your essay by writing your hook? That is a BIG mistake. In this video, I will show you not only how to start your essay but how to come up with a simple but effective essay outline.

First, I show you how to breakdown and understand your essay question. This step is skipped over by many students but is the first part of writing your essay. Next, I show you how to use a thinking map to plan out a cause and effect essay. I then show you how to pick and choose the best ideas to write about in your essay. Next, I show you a simple way to take your brainstorm and turn it into a thesis statement. The thesis is the most important sentence in your essay which is why you need to write it first.

Next, I show you how to create an essay outline with a Tree Map. It helps you organize your essay and plan out your paragraphs. I then show you how to take your ideas and turn them into a topic sentence.
