Inclusive vs Competitive – Striking a Balance in Your Athletic Program | Global Take
With schools flying to season-ending tournaments, banners hanging in the gym, families moving in and out from all over the world, it is often hard to maintain the educational-based athletic philosophy with a desire to also win. Can international schools have both inclusive and competitive programs simultaneously, or do we have to choose.
The panel will discuss getting the community to buy into your program, dealing with families that are not used to an inclusive sports program, and dealing with the challenges of trying to include all students who would like to take part. Is a ‘no cut’ policy really an option with short seasons, fewer competitions, and often limited facilities?
